What to see:
New York City is diverse with a distinct identity in each borough and a celebration of cultures. The food is some of the best in the United States and entertainment is also top notch. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Check out what we did on our map and pictures for suggestions.
What to do:
We can’t even come close to listing out the many things to do in NYC. However, we recommend getting a pass, such as the New York Pass, City Pass, The Sightseeing Pass, or the New York Explorer Pass. We recommend trying Chinese food (specifically dumplings), New York style pizza, and boba (or bubble) tea. Do NOT miss the 911 Memorial and Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Statue of Liberty Cruise, Central Park or the Empire State Building.
Who to bring:
We think that this city can be enjoyed by many different people. It’s good for solo travel because there are so many tourists and it’s easy to meet people. There are also plenty of unique experiences for couples. Families can enjoy the many museums, theatres, and fun locations in the city. Groups of friends can always find something to do because there are places for everyone’s interests. It is a truly unique city that is hard to cover in even a week. We only really explored two of the five boroughs, so find your top interests and plan around that.
How to get around:
The subway is the best mode of transportation. We highly recommend it. Super easy to get around town. We don’t recommend driving. Subway, busses, and walking will be the best modes of transportation here.
What we did:
We saw SO much in NYC. We walked miles and miles everyday, even though we took the subway. There is just so much to explore on foot. The day we walked the least was when we took the Hop On Hop Off Bus and got a feel for different areas of Manhattan while hearing some history and interesting facts. We stayed in Brooklyn, in a quiet neighborhood at an AirBnB with wonderful hosts. Check out our map to see where we went. Some highlights were the 911 Memorial and Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden,
